It was, thanks!

I keep running into errors about not having the right packages installed,
though.

So far I've needed to install that, libtool, and zlib1g-dev in order to jump
various hurdles in the make process. This latest one has me stumped.

checking for daemon... yes
checking for getpagesize... yes
checking whether snprintf correctly terminates long strings... yes
checking whether system supports SO_PEERCRED getsockopt... yes
checking for (overly) strict mkstemp... yes
checking if openpty correctly handles controlling tty... yes
checking whether getpgrp requires zero arguments... yes
configure: error: *** Can't find recent OpenSSL libcrypto (see config.log for
details) ***
make: *** [/home/admin/systemimager.trunk/src/openssh-3.9p1/ssh] Error 1

But I have the libcrypto library, at least the latest one available in Ubuntu
which is libssl0.9.8 (installing libcrypto++-dev didn't help)

Any ideas?

It's about the end of my work day, so I'll likely be on tomorrow. Thanks for
all the help, Andrea, people like you are what makes the Free Software world
turn.

Hey, if I can figure out all the hurdles in building this on Ubuntu, would
there be any way that we could update the package in the Ubuntu or Debian
repositories to the latest version? I'd like to save future mes and yous the
time and and frustration I've brought to this list.

Hope this finds you doing well!

Simón
