I am having this same issue as well; I want to clone Dell PowerEdge 2950's. I 
use the UYOK option to make the CD, either with no option, or targeting the 
/etc/systemconfig/boot/ dir of my created image, and every boot cd fails.

I read the UYOK page several times.

I get the same error as:

 Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)


However, I was under the impression that using the UYOK option would make sure 
my ramdisk was the exact size needed.
