Not as of the moment where the program refuses to create partition
beyond the limit it "sees" of the disk.

blockdev didn't work returnin IO error, a bit more digging, and I found
the disk controller module was not properly loaded on boot, so after
changing the script and loading the module /dev was proporly update
without the need to rerun blockdev.

Thanks for the help, but a note for the future of systemimager, better
attention to the partitioning of the disk, and the loading of modules,
at least from my experience.
