Ive used both on AMD 64.
Konqueror works with java 1.6, but it came undone when I tried to use a
secure site. Worked great with runescape but not with the Uni log in.
I ended up using Blackdown, and am yet to find a problem.
Of course it really annoys me not having the latest stuff, especially
when its 1.4 - two versions behind, but it has worked with everything so
far, so can't complain.
