This is a call for all interested in the development and success of soci. We are currently running tests on the developer's machines and receive failures when somebody reports them on the mailing list. I'd like to have a clearer view of which platforms build and run tests successfully and which backends work where, so I setup a public CDash where all interested parties can see and contribute test results.
I'll add more builds on windows (XP-VS2005), aix(5.3 with gcc), centos-5 and hp-ux soonish. We need people who can volunteer some test machine time for running nightly (or continuous!) builds of the git tip. If you want to be certain that soci releases work well for you and you have a: - computer where you can compile soci every night - dbms among those supported with a user dedicated for soci testing (CREATE and DROP rights are necessary) - an internet connection please consider running a nightly or experimental build In order to do so, you must - start with a clean build directory - set an appropriate SITE cmake variable (it's your hostname by default) - set an appropriate BUILD_NAME cmake variable (at least Platform-version-architecture) - run make Experimental If all goes as expected, consider running this under cron. Instructions for doing this are on the cmake wiki http://www.itk.org/Wiki/CMake_Testing_With_CTest http://www.itk.org/Wiki/CMake_Scripting_Of_CTest If you need assistance with setting up ctest ask here. It's also possible to run these under jenkins. If you have a jenkins instance, contact me and I'll give details on how to set it up. Nightly builds consume little CPU time, a build can take from 3 to 10 minutes, depending on cpu disk and OS contstraints. -- Claudio Bantaloukas http://www.rdfm.org/ammuzzu/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it. IT sense. And common sense. http://p.sf.net/sfu/splunk-d2d-c2 _______________________________________________ Soci-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/soci-users
