If the life safety system will operate with or without the drain and if it being damaged won't cause damage to the primary life safety system and there is no text stating such ancillary piping is required to be braced, I'd say stick a fork in it, you're done. Sign, seal and deliver.

I should have said in my post that I'm not 100% certain because it's being submitted to a preposterously fickly AHJ and they're historically very subjective, but my personal opinion is that it's not required for the reason that you mention. As a combo, there's a collection pipe for sectional test and drain discharge, and for reasons peculiar to this building, our first choice is to bring the gang drain back to the riser room, as it's the only place with a SS trap in the basement. We're trying to decide whether a seismic joint is required of the drain pipe, which is normally dry and never under system pressure in any case. I reckon I should know this, but I don't think we've had to address this condition in forever, maybe never.
