Question about squid log

Hi!
I'm developing squid traffic statistics.
In every 5 minutes my parser runs and reads squid log file then it saves
current file postition to continue next time - so only new information
is parsed.
Is it possible to read incomplete line from log file. is log file line
buffered?
my version of squid: 2.5.STABLE10
my program will work on Fedora Code 4 with bundled squid
(squid-2.5.STABLE9-7.i386.rpm)
