The additive package is what provides the necessary characteristics the natural oil does not possess. In the case of the additives we have available, even the additive package comes form natural sources. I have not heard of any problems, or a need for degumming cold pressed oil.
Winter and summer also require different amounts and additive blends for optimal performance.
