Hi!
I've been following synfig evolution during last year and now I have fully
entered in a satisfactory level of usability. I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and have
installed the official packages from repositories.
Also I'm Moho (now Anime Studio) from one year ago also and I believe that
synfig is much better than Anime Studio in some aspects. Anyway Anime Studio
bones system and other features like 3D camera capabilities are great and are
missing in synfig.

I really want to give help to make this project grow but I feel it have some
lacks of support. My experience with Anime Studio is that a forum for the users
is a great place to share with others their experiences and the classic "How do
I...?" questions. Maybe this mailing list can help.
I would like to contribute to the wiki but there is no basic documentation
for all the features of the program. Sometimes I don't know if a feature is not
yet implemented or there is a bug in the version I have. For example:

  1) I've tried to render to ffmepg format but always crash. I don't know if I
miss some extra package, if it is a bug or if my ffmpeg version don't match
synfig requirements.
  2) Same happen with gif format.
  3) The menu entry "Play" (I think it is at the View entry) don't do nothing
  4) All the context menu entries related to the submenu "convert" are missing.
They seems to be very important (for example convert a beizer curve to a
reference). What that means?
  5) What means "export" in the context right click menu?

I don't wanted to bother you with all those questions (you can answer them if
you want), I only want to highlight you that is very difficult to write a wiki
page or make a tutorial when there are a lot of properties of the program that
are not documented.

Finally I apoloigize if my questions were answered in some other place but I
did not made a deep reading to all this mailing list or I couldn't find them in
the wiki.

Last, the main synfig.com site is being in trouble during last few days...

  Thanks for listen
  -G
