Today I was unable to find an e-mail I knew I was sent. I searched
everywhere it could be. My email provider is fastmail, and I have been
using fastmail, and theBat! in tandem for longer than I can remember.
Fastmail collects all my old POP accounts, and I have some accounts
which forward to fastmail. In retirement, my filtering needs are far
less than they used to be, and fastmail does all my filtering before
the mail comes to me.

Anyhow, I thought I’d look at my filters through Fastmail’s webmail
system and see if the missing message was somewhere getting filtered
some place where I wasn’t finding it. While looking I discovered a
folder at the web site to which I was not subscribed. There is a ‘junk
mail’ folder which catches lots of junk mail, which I see every day. I
was unaware there was also a ‘spam’ filter. There, I found the missing
message.

Thinking that I didn’t want to now be checking mail at fastmail.com as
well as in theBat!, I went off to ‘Manage IMAP Folders.’ Looking at
the ‘All’ tab, no ‘Spam’ folder appears.

What am I missing?
