I was observing huge packets losses while running a client applicaition that recieves RTP packets from a remote server.
To debug the problem I ran tcpdump with -w option as: #tcpdump -T rtp -w dump 'src host server and dst port 2501' I also dumped all rtp sequence numbers in the client. A diff on the seq nos. dumped from the client and those dumped by tcpdump, gave a strange result. There were about 400 rtp seq nos. that were recieved by the client but were not present in the dump generated by tcpdump. Can anyone suggest what could be the problem...?
