I’ll have a look at that amp and I wonder whether it very may well be better 
than the solution I opted for, connecting my B&W T7 to the headphone jack of 
the iMac and jacking the volume up to as loud as it could go.
Even then the volume was incredibly low.
I also used a pair of cans but with the same issue so one has to wonder what 
the engineers at Apple were thinking at the time or perhaps they have ears of a 
more sensitive nature than the rest of us.
