@grendotrash, muti-company in 5.0.x is possible but very challenging, you have to work around many corner cases, the more modules you use, the more corner cases because to few module developper think about a multi-company usage and because the OpenERP core module do not always offer all the require flexibility for module to override features cleanly. Guys like CampToCamp (integrator since 6.0 with very good accountant at their head), are among the only few who managed it and they suffered. I strongly suggest you rather have separate instance with data synch for 5.0.x version.
Now, luckily, that feedback is being integrated in 5.2. There might still be a few corner cases, it actually depends very much on how many skilled integrators can jumpstart on 5.2 and help to cover the last miles while having their customer project funding the effort. After that, it will be frozen again. For now, I've seen good multi-company stuff entering from Tiny, CampToCamp and Syleam enter into the trunk. If you have some large new project with a deadline later than 3 months, may be you can help starting a 5.2 project now (yes it will be hardcore, but the reward is that it will match all your requirements).
