This is not entirely true.
It is quite easy to configure what messages get sent by mod_jk - the admin is supposed to know what type of worker it connects to, and if the worker is an old tomcat or other config he can just disable the new messages.
All that's needed is a simple piece of code on both ends of jk2.
I'm worry not about JTC/JK2, but JK and old AJP13 implementations ;)
