Too slow, unless done very carefully asynchronously (and then you have to really take care to keep entries in the right order, etc -- it's a nightmare).
There are no open bugs against JDBCAccessLogValve.
re: asynchronous DB writes - Tim pointed out the JDBCAccessLogValve. I assume you are thinking that this would quickly become a bottleneck?
