Filip Hanik has written a great article on HTTP Session Replication using Tomcat 4. http://www.theserverside.com/resources/index.jsp
In this article we will cover one of the clustering technologies, HTTP session replication, that is used within the J2EE model. In the second half of the article, an example is provided of how session replication can be implemented using Tomcat in conjunction with JavaGroups, a communication protocol which can perform reliable multicast operations to transfer session state between nodes.
