ROTFLOL! You got me on that one, Judy. I was just trying to
communicate the armchair quarterback idea. You know, like the guy who
watches sports on television and thinks he would be a better quarterback
than the one he is criticizing?

Look, the Bible talks about preaching, right? I mean, do you disagree
with the idea of someone standing up in a public park, on a street
corner, or on a university campus, and raising up his voice to declare
the kingdom of God and righteousness? If you agree that it is in the
Bible, but you aren't doing it yourself, can you understand how some of
your comments might sound to the guy who is getting all beat up, put in
jail, mocked, etc.? You come across like the armchair quarterback, and
he is looking to you for that warm fuzzy acceptance and love, but
instead he gets rejection from you too. It's kind of disheartening. Be
a supportive sister! That's what I'm trying to say. Cheer for the
team!

Ok, I hear you. We might have to work on what you mean by the "body of
Christ" and whether or not repentance is only within the body, but let's
just set that aside of a moment. How about making the same statement
positive for starters. Can you say something like, "I support the idea
of repentance being preached and reproof being given as long as it is
within the body of Christ." I know you just said it in that statement,
and you might find it silly for me to have you word it in a positive
way, but I think it better puts us on the same footing. I don't want to
feel like I'm dragging you to agreement. Let's just agree together that
repentance is part of what Jesus preached, and that men of God are to be
in the service of reproving others. Are we at that level of agreement?

Peace be with you.
