if you're using pulseaudio then create a file: 
~/.pulse/daemon.conf

with this content:
enable-lfe-remixing = yes
default-sample-rate = 48000
default-sample-channels = 6
default-channel-map = front-left, front-right, center, rear-left, rear-right, 
lfe

then restart and you should get center and lfe (subwoofer) in speaker-
test -c6 -twav

but I have no idea how to make it appear as 5.1 profile in system settings, and 
in alsamixer as standalone CENTER, and LFE channels, I have only FRONT, and 
SURROUND.
but the code I posted above should work for center and lfe in speaker-test, but 
I don't know how to make it system-wide applied, tried lot's of .asoundrc 
configs but nothing except speaker-test worked on all 6 channels
