if you're using pulseaudio then create a file: ~/.pulse/daemon.conf with this content: enable-lfe-remixing = yes default-sample-rate = 48000 default-sample-channels = 6 default-channel-map = front-left, front-right, center, rear-left, rear-right, lfe
then restart and you should get center and lfe (subwoofer) in speaker- test -c6 -twav but I have no idea how to make it appear as 5.1 profile in system settings, and in alsamixer as standalone CENTER, and LFE channels, I have only FRONT, and SURROUND. but the code I posted above should work for center and lfe in speaker-test, but I don't know how to make it system-wide applied, tried lot's of .asoundrc configs but nothing except speaker-test worked on all 6 channels -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802660 Title: ALC670 5.1 surround not recognized properly on Acer Aspire 8943G To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/802660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
