But as you said, it is still not recognized as 5.1 in the system sound manager. To be honest, I am quite confused whether it is a problem of ALSA or Pulseaudio as I do not know exactly what does each of them actually do. I think ALSA provides drivers to a program interface which is Pulseaudio, or?
