Hi Andy, Please do file a bug on the NIC issues; they certainly should work and the modules should be present.
Currently the installer does not create a persistent location. A few options here are: 1) cat the file to screen and take photos; you won't be the first to submit a bug report with screenshots 2) Depending on your usb disk layout it's possible to do that; you can sudo bash on tty2 to get root there.
