Hi Andy,

Please do file a bug on the NIC issues; they certainly should work and
the modules should be present.

Currently the installer does not create a persistent location.  A few
options here are:

1) cat the file to screen and take photos; you won't be the first to
submit a bug report with screenshots

2) Depending on your usb disk layout it's possible to do that; you can
sudo bash on tty2 to get root there.  If you've just copied the iso
directly to the USB stick, then the partition layout doesn't have space.

3) You could modify one of the target disks from the live installer;
create a partition on the disk, format it with ext4, mount and then copy
the /var/log/installer dir to the partition
