I'm not suggesting you trigger uevents for all devices, just the one you're repartitioning... > The cold plug is required (initramfs may or maynot > have ran > scripts/udevd etc but kernel events already were emitted during initial > boot and userspace isn't ready yet) and runs before cloud-init runs. yes I know, my point was you appear concerned about the extra time of retriggering a single device, while bootup retriggers all devices. In any case, as I said in comment 57 - you appear to have things under control, I was only curious if anyone had actually tested if simply retriggering the repartitioned device does actually fix/workaround the problem. I'll step back out of this bug again. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1834875 Title: cloud-init growpart race with udev To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/1834875/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
