I uploaded the syslog file, but there is no /var/log/partman file. I booted from the hardy live cd, picked the install option from the menu, and then it never gave me the gui for the install and instead just booted me into the live hardy system. There was a crash report option, and I did my best to have it file the report with you but the buttons at the bottom of the file report were off the bottom of my monitor with no way to get to them. I saw the top of a yellow button and clicked on it hoping it was the "yes" button, but could not scroll down to see the rest of the screen to see the text on the button. (I often have this same screen issue with your install gui.) I guess I should file another bug report for this ;-)
