ah, yes thats the key.
Its an documention issue..
well.. ..and at least 3 people has gone wrong at the exact
same place.

The thing is, you got the correct files right into your computer when you
downloaded from CVS.

You probably copied the unattended/linuxaux directory over to the network
share after compiling was done?

install.pl resides in unattended/install/dosbin in your build tree and must
also be transfered to the dosbin directory in the installation share.

So, for a new installation, you just copy/move/transfer the unattended/install
directory to youre server and share it out. All is well and very easy.

When upgrading an existing server share, it would be bad to overwrite yore
customized setting files and scripts. Basically, that is good thinking.
To sum it up as a thumb rule, you need to move:

install/dosbin/install.pl
Install/linuxaux/

onto the network share when upgrading the linuxboot.
The rest of the files in the network share are very static and have not
changed in years.

That is not true for the scripts, of course.
I will suggest using the sourceforge CVS web interface for upgrading these:

Soh, :-)
This should be in a README somewhere..
