I've lost a lot of hair...
Tonight I tried the build-process on another machine, also a Debian 4.0r1
(etch) System.
I got the SAME error again. There _must_ be a break at debian or busybox!

Will try it with Knoppix in a VM (cuz it didn't want to eat the HD in a
test-PC).

Someone here who had success with compiling the actual linuxboot under
Debian etch?
Maybe you could put the image/files online?
