I'm almost positive that this is due to a bug which was fixed<https://github.com/neo4j/community/commit/e75d33e4bba05b2697f9b7c4778dd55f84b09f9f>13:th april, i.e. the fix is in1.8.M01 and later. Could you try your inserter with a more recent version?
