My web host is happy to look at unix-compatible applications to install.

MidCOM is mostly in the filesystem, of course having common MidCOM for
all users is a good idea but strictly speaking it can be installed just

Anyways, the midgard-data package which initializes the database etc
contains a version of midcom (not the latest one but anyways), so if
they install in the recommended way midcom will be included.
