Isn't 8009 some sort of backchannel control port, perhaps the one used for controlled shutdown of Tomcat?
It seems to be defined as an AJP port "straight out of the box," is also so-defined on our own Tomcat server, and is presumably so-defined at all our other customer installations.
And yet this is the first time I've ever seen these error messages.
