Dennis, nothing to worry over. When you sync them, you do it at idle.
The reason it varies at different openings, air flow through the carbs
will vary. Each cylinder will be a little different. Cylinder pressure,
a slide not moving as freely, air flow past the valves. Thats the reason
long time ago when engine builders were more finicky about building a
motor, making sure each chamber was the same, each port flowed within a
certain amount. On mass produced motors you'll have bigger differences.
Basicly you want the initial opening the same so all the carbs pull
together, not one opening more than the others.
