Was wondering about that and thanks for letting me know that it's best to use v. 2 over v. 3. BTW, Lowendmac doesn't seem to have any working link to any of the old NS browsers either. At any rate, on really old systems like 7.1 with low RAM I try to avoid using NS altogether and resort to Wannabe which runs better. Then, if there is enough RAM and on System 7.5, I usually try the latest 68K version of iCab which usually works.

2.02 and 3 are basically the same thing as far as rendering goes.. 3
has some JS improvements that are by todays standards usless... (you
will still need to disable java/javascript regardless of which version
you use) 3 also made some improvements to its plugin system (also
useless) .... and of course this makes 3 eat a lot more ram than
2.02... so its best to stick with the older version....

Anyone on this list know where I can find a working download link for
the really old Netscape browsers like v. 3? I have found links
alright, several of them in fact, but they all appear to be dead
including the Netscape browser archived products link itself. Any ftp
sites that have these older browser links? I have a copy of NS 2.02
from an old Apple Internet Connection Kit, however, I want to download, run and install NS 3.x on a System 7.5 machine just to see how it runs.
BTW, with these older NS browsers, anyone have advice on just how to
avoid the Java errors, a simple fix, upgrade, etc.? If anyone has a
copy of NS 3.x they could send me as an email attachment that would
work just as well. I'm especially looking for the Navigator, not the
full Communicator package. Sure would appreciate it! Thanks!
