People have watched thousands of hours of birds flocking, live and on video. As far as I know, no one has ever seen that happen. That is what is so amazing about flocking, and it is why we get the feeling there must be some sort of ESP involved. Animals do have accidents from time to time. Squirrels sometimes fall out of trees, for example. - Jed
