Hello,

SI says:

* k is not 1024; it's 1000.
* K is not 1024; it's a temperature unit.

We must use either k or K.

Some people prefer k because:

* the SI says it's a prefix;
* M, which means 10^6 in SI, means 1024^2 in computing context, so
  there's no reason why we couldn't use k for 1024.

I think it's a logical thought, although I actually don't care about
using k or K.
