I just noticed that when I use tigervnc to connect I also get a black screen.
It had worked correctly a few days ago. Something broke.

Michael is running FC23, not Ubuntu, on his server.
The underlying issue may still be the same, assuming FC23 ships KDE5
just like Ubuntu does.
