Blue Hills Trail report...
There is enough snow to ski 80% of the trail system, and Audie Flowage continues to receive grooming attention. Following last week's warmup, the trail system is glazed in many areas; other areas are hardpack with a loose surface providing some edge control. With the ongoing lack of fresh snow, skiing at Audie provides a better surface, where conditions Tuesday (Feb. 25) were slow when skating the cold, hard, occasionally lightly drifted groomed trail. The striding lane appears in fairly good shape at Audie. While rock skis are not necessary on much of the trail, some ruts, frost heaves, and stones remain poorly covered -- and south-facing hills have bare spots.
