A bit of clarification, if I may. From a logical standpoint, 400KB disks
are different than 800KB diskettes. The former are Macintosh File System (MFS)
while the latter are Hierarchial File System (HFS). But from a physical
standpoint, they are quite similar. The 400KB diskette is single sided, the
800KB diskette is double sided, but they use the same recording method.
Although 800KB and 1.44MB diskettes are logically similar, in that they both
are HFS diskettes, they use different physical recording methods. As a result,
1.44MB HFS diskettes can be accessed on Windoze systems, with the proper
programming (i. e., Transmac), but 800K Mac diskettes cannot.
