wooooo!! that was one of the best nights at motor i've ever had. revolution magazine was there. huge bus parked out front. i was shocked when we went inside, huge displays set up. you had to walk back through the lounge to get to the big room.
swayzak was great. even though there was possibly too much bass with too much volume at times (possibly they wanted it to sound like the speakers were blown) and they were lacking on a few transitions, it was real nice. their equipment was set up on the floor, right in front of the booth. people were packed around it when i got there, not too many people dancing but people seemed to be enjoying it. their live set ended at 12:30 i believe. i've never heard them before, but i liked them. reminded me of a hard and syncopated dissonant funky kind of blend. juan was simply giving off tons of energy. time just flew by. the crowd got hyped when he started playing some derrick may. five minutes later may is up by the decks saying hello to juan. that got the attention of quite a few people. i fail to understand those who disvalue the atkins experience, saying he's just a house dj now. sure, there were horns, funky bass lines, harmonies, but i consider myself a techno man and it was a great set (minus the small problems with the second turntable at the beginning). i'm still feeling great more than an hour later. cheers. -- Joshua Hill - [EMAIL PROTECTED] icq: 3045997 / aolim: mandlebrot314 www.ai-studio.com/josh - homepage www.hillhaus.com - detroit cyberia www.ai-studio.com - curator -- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jorge Velez" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2000 10:26 PM Subject: Re: [313] Juan/Swayzak > >From: Mike Wells <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >To: "Joshua M.
