Jayson I guess you missed lingo 101 last thursday so here's the update on funk and soul:
funk: the groove that makes your body move soul: the emotion you feel from the music funk and soul have nothing to do with 'good' and 'solid'. In fact someone can mix with a plethora of funk and soul and still not be good or solid. if a track contains no funk or soul that it would probably not move or touch a crowd, it becomes the forgettable classic. The song you can't sing in your head, is the one you forget most often.
