Agreed.

I do see what you mean, but on the other hand I think when you add up all Winks
behaviors thru the years towards DBX it sounds more like he was actually like
'stalking' his tracks, (I realize that's a bit overdramatic but bear with me
here)... they way he was calling or almost 'warning' Dan let me him know he was
releasing that were very similar... you gotta admit the cumulative effect of
that is pretty darn weird. Those who are artists on this list, what if someone
kept doing that to you? After awhile it would just go from mildly flattering
to annoying to downright creepy.

That whole Lil Louis/Wink "french kiss/hows your evening so far" story -- I
mean that's an extremely derivative track, it's basically a remix. (OK well
not as derivative as what the Dance Mania artists were doing to each other back
in their heyday, anyone?) but to think he didn't want to give credit where it
was due with even THAT track...

For comparision: When Carl Craig (as Paperclip People) did a track that
lifted the signature line from of E2-E4, and he not only credited Gottsching as
original artist but actually TITLED the track "Remake".

(And in an semi-related note I had just about forever shunned that track
'higher state of consciousness' from my memory until Phred just mentioned it!
Arrr ;)

Peace,
