i just happen to hate it as some of my records have this noticeable 
"swoosh" before and over the first beat - result of playing on decks 
with too much weight, bad needles.. but you can't always take your own 
decks to the gig. especially annoying if the record has nice piano + 
acapella and in the middle of that the beat kicks in, you can hear that 
the record is worn out. of course, having double copies would be cool 
but i can't afford to buy two copies of every record i buy. and i know i 
can't find double copies of some older tracks easily anymore :)
