There is bad business to a large extent but I think downloading has some effect. People will always take the free option regardless. I think with commercial albums a large part of it is the lack of A&R guidance. So many times you get an album with one or two decent songs. The Beyonce album broke my heart - after reading that interview in Vibe it sounded like she would do something really interesting, but then it's generic. Somewhere along the line they compromised the vision. Ironically the best urban albums this year like Floetry's don't sell.
