You need to accept that you and I aren't everyone - you really can't speak from the perspective of "one" on this because the facts are very, very different, I've just watched a friends album hit the P2P and that fact that he's got 10,000 D/L's from one site alone does kinda please him but it doesn't feed the baby and his sales haven't gone up - the halcyon days are over. I think you'll find that this is now the norm, sadly.

I've been trying to think of a good MP3 model for our label for months....

Not to belabor the point, but I think your original judgement was a bit harsh. You are just wrong that people don't use mp3s to find releases to look for in the store. I do that. If I have heard the mp3 and liked it, I'm much more likely to buy the vinyl.
