They killed me. I was next to VanLoo (Greg Earle came by after a while)
in the middle just letting it pick me up and throw me around. My pants
were actually vibrating in discernibly different places given the
placement of the bass notes. I could not believe the imagery in the
center of that ring. I'm high remembering it.
I can't believe how many times would both turn to the other and just say
'wow'. The sound quality and style he was playing just fit so well.
I had my money's worth in 10 minutes.

yeah, that sound system was the best ive ever heard. the only thing
that worries me is that theyll have to equal it every year!

R&S were *pure* cream and
everything else that sounded good was just a plus. Not even the clown
jumping around like a dork in Booka Shade or a few technical problems in
the 3 Chairs Set could be real detractions (well - that jumping jerk was
;-). I could even have taken a few glowsticks up the side of the head
and not been buzzkilled after the way it started.

it was kinda disappointing that the best stuff was right at the
beginning, and that i missed scan 7, aux 88, and kerri chandler
because of r&s playing, but they were too much, i couldnt miss any
more than i did by skipping out for shake's set. theo murdered it as
well, him and r&s were the best sets at the actual festival, by far.

Rain notwithstanding.
I loved Shake's set, but he's (typically) beating himself up over
catching some air and dropping a few transitions. I'm sure he's reading
the negative reviews and bumming even more.

shake killed it. the only reason i left r&s is because he is one of my
2 favorite deejays. only he and theo would be able to pull me away.
and i am glad he did, he was banging it out in that tent!

I am so lucky to live where I do during Memorial Weekend.
Lots of other times, too.

you are. i really love detroit.
