I moved a medical office scheduling dialog I had rolled myself to Canvas a while back and have been very happy with it. I was especially glad I had made the move recently when I had to change appointment minimum times from 15 mins to 10 mins. All I had to do was change a variable.
Curious as to why you are moving away. If I were to move from Canvas to something else today, I might take a look at SVG as a possible alternative. At least for my application of Canvas, I think I could do it with SVG.
