Drew, Ahh yes. I remember now that I too had significant issues going form 1.5 to 2. If I remember correctly, things got a bit testy at the time but with pluggers help we got through it and all is well now.
If you really don’t want to deal with the upgrade to version 2 then for you Canvas, as Fonzie once so eloquently demonstrated, has jumped the shark ;-) I would think that SVG is the way to go. I replaced AreaListPro and DisplayList with native Listbox for the same reason you are looking to replace canvas.
