Hi John,

I just tested this on v17.2 64bit on macOS 10.13.6 and and OK variable
returning 1 if you click “Print” button in the dialog and 0 if you click
“Cancel” button.

Also tested this on v17.2 64bit on Windows 10 Home and got the same results.
OK variable is being set correctly.

So it appears to be you and your configuration. Now you need to go into
troubleshooting mode…

1. Are you both clicking the “Print” button in the print dialog box, or you
pressing return key or enter key. I clicked the Print button, or clicked the
Cancel button.

2. Have you created a new database and a method with just:

PRINT SETTINGS
TRACE

and then run that method and check the debugger for OK value?

3. What printer driver are you and your client using? Try printing to a
different printer. (Set the default printer at the OS level first. Then start
4D and do the test)

4. Are either of you selecting a different printer when the dialog box is
displayed or using the default printer that is already selected in the dialog
box. I used the default printer.

Reminds me of a bug reported to me many years ago by a user that I could not
reproduce. Turned out the user was using the keyboard to initiate an action and
it was failing. I was using the mouse and clicking a button to initiate the
action and it worked.

That’s all I can offer.

Tim
