We did this some years ago with another VOIP phone system and it worked ok.
It is not trivial but it can be done.
Here are the basic steps:
1) register the 4D clients and store their phone extensions in 4D.(so you
can direct the call to the correct client)
2) Detect the call from the Ring Central server. We used a plugin for this
that we wrote. Depending on how open Ring Central are to integration they
might be able to send a web call to your 4D server. This should contain the
destination extension and the incoming phone number.
3) build a lookup within 4D to query on the phone number and pop up the
client record. When a call comes in it executes on client.
