Yes Arthur :) Ardour is fine :) as I wrote I was forced to use it,
because I needed to make a demo.

QSynth (fluidsynth) will play soundfonts and QSampler (linuxsampler)
will play gigasamples. The problem is that Jack, QSynth and QSampler
will crash too, when using Rosegarden or Muse. I can try QTracktor with
Suse, I didn't do it until now, or I can try to compile a SVN version of
Ardour, that features a MIDI sequencer. I think there is no other usable
MIDI sequencer. Seq24 is worth. I don't know the state of LMMS, but it
was worth some time ago. QTracktor with 64 Studio won't be fine, I think
I can try to compile it for my 64 Studio upgraded to Lenny, but not for
the Etch version.

Okay, so I don't need to test archlinux and sidux. We both should try
Rosegarden 1.6.x.

Northbridge of my ASUS M2A-VM HDMI is AMD 690G, southbridge is ATI
SB600. When you say you has the same chipset, does this mean the same
combination or is just one bridge the same? What's your mobo?

I guess you can be fine when recording QSampler as Audio-Track for
Ardour, by playing it without using a sequencer.

Thanks too
Ralf
