On the search for a sequencer you could try Energy XT (http://www.energy-xt.com). It has a very nice workflow approach. Not free but cheap (free try-out), and the second incarnation is cross platform Windows/Linux/Mac. If you don't like the linux version, try the windows version with winealsa. Notice that I did not really work with it under Linux so i can not give better hints right now.
