Is the soundcard working at all - can you i. e. playback audiofiles using alsa?
If not, what soundcard do you have?

Is jack running?
I never used ecasound before, but your command works fine here.
It doesn't autoconnect ecasound to jack though.
after running ecasound you can check the output of jack_lsp, it should
list something like:

ecasound:out_1
ecasound:out_2

if ecasound works so far, audio connections can be made with jack_connect:

jack_connect ecasound:out_1 alsa_pcm:capture_1
jack_connect ecasound:out_2 alsa_pcm:capture_2

or, with jconv running:

Jack_connect ecasound:out_1 jconv:In-1

Putting all this in a little script will give you a 'plug and play'
reverb or whatever required

good luck,
david
