Hi :)

today I saw CrazyTalk5 on Vista, another stable application that makes
animations much easier. While I can't do 2D and 3D animations stable on
Linux, for Windows there are ZBrush, CrazyTalk etc., I try to stay at
Linux as long as possible, but the serious barriers for creative work
are increasing.

Is there a community that seriously does animation films by using FLOSS
Linux or are there any affordable animation applications that are state
of the art?

A few words to the general frustration:

The blame isn't on AMD ;), I know people, not only Arthur, that are
using Intel and that have changed to windows. I'm still in contact with
Arthur and he's still using Linux for everything but music. For Arthur's
Intel nearly all MIDI applications are absolutely unstable, for my AMD
only MIDI sequencers are absolutely unstable. I still have hope that
MIDI sequencers will be fine, when I have a graphics. Maybe I can't buy
one this year.

That there is a community like this for 64 Studio has given me hope, but
when I read that the kernel community don't take care about the people
who need real real-time, I lost a lot of hope. The troubles with
kernel-rt ex 2.6.26 seems to be caused by that worse thing, that's
called real-time for vanilla kernels.

Reading the forums, many people seems to have multi-boots with a
Windows. I don't have any Windows, but I'm less creative, because I
always have problems while being creative with Linux.

Cheers,
Ralf
