And connect disconnect cycles unfortunately...  The problem is that the 
usb connector on these devices can only handle a certain amount of 
physical plug and unplugs before it breaks down.  This has nothing to do 
with the flash memory inside, but with the physics of the design of the 
flash stick.  Nice thing, as with CD, if you look after it, and take 
care to insert it properly and without "hunting" for the usb socket, it 
will last much longer.
